Who runs BRCCC?
The Boronia Radio Controlled Car Club is run by volunteer club members comprising a Committee . The Committee meets each month to discuss the running of the club, to make decisions about it's direction and to discuss ideas and issues presented by Club Members. Club Members are eligible to run for any of the Committee positions each year.
How is BRCCC funded?
BRCCC is funded through membership and racing fees as well as through the generous support of our valued Sponsors .

How big is the track?
The race track is permanently located on two former tennis courts and is designed to allow a variety of layouts to be created through the use of permanent and temporary barriers. The layouts change each week, ensuring a variety of quick and complex tracks.
Around 60 track layouts are possible with the average track length over 100m, depending on the track being used. Track layouts and records can be found in the Club Gallery.
When is the track open?
The track is open to the public for practice at all times. The pits, club rooms and toilets are only open during race events.
What facilities are availble at the track?
BRCCC provides various facilities which are available during race events. Aside from the track and drivers stand the club also provides toilet facilities, bins, spectator barriers and seating, an enclosed pit room, tables and power as well as disabled facilities.
When do we race?
The club races every Wednesday nights from 6.30pm until 10.30pm throughout the year with a 2-3 week break for Christmas. There are also up to 4 special events held during the year.
What type of car/equipment do I need to buy?
BRCCC is focused on 1/10 scale on-road electric cars only. For further information on equipment and costs see the Getting Started in RC article.
What racing classes are run at BRCCC?
Normally around 5-6 classes run each week. Classes range from Novice, 540 Pro, Stock, Super Stock, Formula 1, Mod and Mini. At least four cars are required to be entered for a particular class to run.

How much does it cost to race?
Racing currently costs $5 for members and $9 for non members.
Who can join the club?
Anyone can join the club at any time. Young, old, male, female, everyone is welcome to become a member and join in the fun of racing. Most people tend to try out racing for a few weeks before committing to be a member.

Note:
- Joining fees apply to new and lapsed members only (not renewals)
- Non-members are not eligible for trophies at the end of a season.
- Members will always have precedence over non-members when forming and finalising classes each week.
How do I join the club?
To join BRCCC simply print and fill out the Membership Form and bring it to the track on a Wednesday Night. OurTreasurer will provide you with a reciept and membership card once your membership has been processed. You will be reminded each year when the Membership Fee is due to renew you membership.
How long is a race?
A race will usually last between 4-5 minutes depending on the number of classes running each week. Races are timed by computer.
How many races are there each week?
Each class will race three or four times per night, depending on the amount of Drivers and/or Classes. There is no qualifying or finals at BRCCC. Please see the section F of the Racing and Membership section for a full list of Race Formats.
How many cars in a race?
Anywhere from 4-12 cars can run in a single race. It is possible however for a class to have 30+ entries and for the class to be run over 3 races. eg 540 Pro A, B and C. Racers are still competing against each other to complete the most laps in the shortest amount of time.
How do you know your race times and placings for each race?
The club uses the popular Alycat software in conjunction with car transponders (attached to each car) to effectively time each race. The software also incorporates voice technology to allow the placings and time remaining to be read out during a race automatically.
How long is a racing season and when do they begin/end?
There are two seasons per year. The first season commences with qualifying in late January and runs until the end of June. Season 2 commences in early July and runs through until December. Sometimes there is also a summer series which runs on Saturdays throughout February and March. Please check the Club Calendar for a full list of events.
What do we race for?
Each season the club provides trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings in each class, in addition to encouragment awards, best clubman and best overall (based on points). These are awarded at the end of each season during a special event.
